The present invention relates to a micro/nano machining tools and techniques. In particular, a system for generation of nanoparticles/debris removed at micro/nano level using a tailor-made micro-electrical discharge machining setup. The tailor made setup is coupled with a piezoactuated tool feed system. The nanoparticles generated in the dielectric medium (pure DI water) are in the range of sub-micron size rather than nanosize (size 100 nm). With proper addition of organic/inorganic stabilizer, possible to generate the suitable nanoparticles with required size and shape in large quantity with uniform distribution. The invented te chnique can also be used for the generation of hybrid nano particles. . The inventive technique involves a simple, straightforward and economical process based on the thermo�electric energy created between the two electrodes namely tool (cathode) and the workp iece (anode).
