The present invention discloses a process for preparation of chitosan-silverherbal membrane composite for biomedical application. The process includes preparation of various precursor materials such as chitosan, herbal extracts from various potent medicinal plants and synthesis of chitosansilver- herbal membrane composites. The chitosan-silver-herbal membrane composites have proven its utility in biomedical applications as an alternative wound dressing material with multiple properties of wound healing as compared with that of plain chitosan and chitosan-silver membrane composites. The chitosan-silver-herbal membrane composites provide the benefits of herbal compounds and has antimicrobial activity against broad range of microorganisms to accelerate the healing of wounds in humans.
