A DEVICE FOR AUTOMATIC MAINTENANCE, CONTROL AND MONITORING OF INTRA-CUFF PRESSURE IN ENDOTRACHEAL TUBES

A device for automatic maintenance, control and monitoring of intra-cuff pressure in endotracheal tubes is being invented. The device is equipped with closed loop monitoring of pressure level in the cuff of endotracheal tube and controls through pneumatic valve driven from microcontroller. The micro air flow is being measured through a precision micro flow sensor which feedbacks to controller to adjust the flow rate and find leakage in the cuff. A safety mechanism for overpressure in cuff is provided to counteract any abnormal pressure rise detected.
