Provided are: a rack guide that is for a rack and pinion steering device and has a simple configuration having maintained the adhesion between a rack guide substrate and a rack guide in order to secure quietness; a rack and pinion steering device; and method for producing a rack guide for rack and pinion steering device. The rack guide for a rack and pinion steering device is provided with: a casing; a pinion supported rotatably at the casing; a rack guide having a rack bar which has rack teeth that mesh with the pinion a contact section which contacts the rack bar in a manner able to slide across the rack bar and a relief section which is contiguous with the contact section and is separated from the rack bar; a rack guide substrate that houses the rack guide; and a biasing means that biases the rack guide to the rack bar with the rack guide substrate therebetween. The thickness dimensions of the relief section differ from the thickness dimensions of the contact section.
