Test equipment for checking oil flow rate in oil jet injectors of lubrication system and total flow rate through all injectors The existing equipment is meant for checking oil flow rate in oil jet injectors used for lubrication of aero engine bearings. For the abov e purpose hot oil was pumped to the oil manifolds by gear pump. The manifolds are provided with number of jets. To check the flow rate of oil through individual jets, the equipment was provided with 7 numbers of measuring vessels with graduated glass tube level indic ator. Flow rate was measured by measuring the volume collected in one minute, for filling the measuring jar for specific time and for the drainage of the oil, valves with timer was provided at the filling line and drain line. The measurement was taken manually in each collector and compared with each other for calculating the difference in flow rate to ascertain the permissible limit. The introduction of human error, accuracy and repeatability of measurement and chances of parallax error are there in this type of system. The equipment has been designed to measure the total and individual flow of oil jets for aero engine application with introduction of sensors and digital data acquisition system to improve the accuracy and reliability of measurement thereby eliminating the hu man error.
