WATER PURIFICATION FOR REMOVAL OF CHEMICAL AND MICROBIOLOGICAL CONTAMINANTS

A modular water purifier (100) for removal of chemical and microbiological contaminants is described. In an implementation, the water purifier (100) includes an outer body (102) to store untreated water, the outer body (102) having an inlet (210). Further, the water purifier (100) includes a chlorine dosing unit (104) to add a pre-defined concentration of chlorine in untreated water to produce chlorinated water, a filter (106) placed inside the outer body (102) to remove suspended particles from chlorinated water to produce filtered water, and an adsorption media cartridge (108) removably placed downstream with respect to the filter (106) to remove a toxic contaminant to provide chemically treated water. The water purifier (100) can further include a polisher cartridge (110) removably placed downstream with respect to the adsorption media cartridge (108) to remove chlorine present in the chemically treated water.
