Conventionally, a scissor lift or jack is used for lifting a vehicle to gain easy access underneath the vehicle. The scissor lift can be categorized as mechanical, pneumatic or hydraulic based on the lifting mechanism used in construction of lift. The calculation for the allowable maximum deflection is the primary factor in selection of the type of lift, design and analysis of a mechanical scissor lift which on the principle of a screw jack. Existing portable systems have a limitation of height. Providing more elevation would increase the efficiency of onsite servicing. The solid modeling and simulation is done using CAE software. Several linear static . FEA analyses have assured accurate results. Results coincide with manual calculations simultaneously. The result shows that the designed components of scissor lift are in the acceptable range which certifies for the manufacturing process which is done.
