ABSTRACT: The anaesthesia gas machine is a device which is designed to provide constant supply of medical gases such as oxygen 02 and nitrous oxide N20, combined with an exact concentration of anaesthetic vapour to the patients. During the anaesthesia procedure, there are possibilities for many errors to take place which results in serious complications for the patients including hypoxia and even death. To put an end to these tragic incidents, Mr. M. Maria Albert Stanly has designed a special device called SOLDIER, which works along with the workstation for the purpose of ensuring safe usage of Anaesthesia Machine and also designed to avoid improper flow of gas mixture to the patient; which in turn prevents the occurrence of anaesthesia accidents like hypoxia caused by human errors and system errors. The SOLDIER continuously monitors and indicates the pipeline pressure of oxygen 02, nitrous oxide N20 qnd Air; the cylinder pressure of oxygen 02 and nitrous oxide N20; the mode of gas supply which is in usage; the volume status of gas available in the Cylinders and other abnormalities within the workstation like high pressure and intermediate pressure leakages. _ Despite advances in modern Anaesthesia technology; hypoxia and other serious tragedies still continue to occur during the process of surgery. And we believe that this invention will be a successful gadget to reduce the occurrence of anaesthesia errors and to provide a comfortable and safe working platform for the anaesthesiologists.
