The present invention provides increased number of coexisting bands along with the elimination of interference from the adjacent system more suitable for satellite applications. The prototype was designed to function for four specific satellite and navigation services in the L and C bands at 1.45, 3.8, 4.3 and 6.3 GHz respectively.In all the four frequency bands, RR couplers 07 180° phase characteristics has been obtained along with an isolation of 30 dB. It provides size reduction of about 30.4% compared to a conventional RR coupler at the lowest resonance frequency, occupying lesser area in the PCB. The coupler uses simple laterally offset dual-rings (LODR) and concentric dual split ring (CDSR) slots to bring in the desired operation. It does not use any shorting pins or lumped components and so the unit cell can be reciprocated easily.
