The invention relates to fruit growing, namely to a process for cultivation of walnut trees.The process, according to the invention, involves the planting of trees in the form of a rectangle formed of two right-angled triangles, each with an angle of 30° adjacent to the side which is the distance between the rows, the opposite side is the distance between the trees, at the same time the distance between the rows (L) is calculated using the formula L=Htgφ, where H is the predetermined height of the tree crown, and φ - the geographic latitude of the area; afterwards at the age of 15…20 years is carried out thinning of trees to produce a planting scheme in the form of an equilateral triangle with the side equal to the diagonal of the initial rectangle at planting.
