摘要

The present invention describes a method for obtaining high impact polystyrene (HIPS) using polybutadiene (PB) as a precursor rubber with high cis-1,4 content, using the in situ process in mass. Initially, the obtention of PB is performed by the selective polymerization of butadiene in the presence of styrene (St) as a solvent, by means of a catalytic system based on neodymium. Subsequently, the resulting solution of PB/St is polymerized by free radicals for obtaining HIPS, which characteristics will depend on the macro and microstructure of the PB obtained in the first step.
