This research paper presents a study of the optical properties originated by mechanochromic mixtures of one family of bis quinolines with polymeric matrixes. Fluorescent compounds of phenylenvinyliden bis quinolines (M1, M2, M3 and M4) from the Knoevenagel reaction were synthesized and characterized. These compounds were subsequently mixed in solution and cryo-mixed at different concentrations with polymers such as polypropylene, polypropylene mixed with maleic anhydrides and linear polyethylene of low density. The obtained films were subjected to thermal and mechanical deformation. The optical characterization of the films obtained before the treatments to which were subjected, shown that low concentrations favor the monomeric emission (isolated molecule) and an increase in the concentration of the fluorescent compound in the polymer, also promoting the formation of aggregates. The emission spectra obtained after the thermal and mechanical treatments present variations in the emissio ns, showing a reduction in the emission band of the aggregates and an increase in the monomeric emission band, this may suppose that a rupture of the aggregates was performed by the effect of the treatments.
