Process and chemical formula for rehydrating soft tissues of mummified corpses or under an initial process of putrefaction. And the chemical formula for the subsequent preservation thereof. The present invention is novel since it includes a process and a chemical formula which are efficient for rehydrating the whole soft tissues present in a mummified corps, or in its initial process of putrefaction, thus reversing the physical changes that these phenomena had caused thereto. Once the rehydration of the tissues is achieved and the natural appearance reintegrated, the corps acquiring the appearance of being recent; thus being possible to appreciate the whole natural and acquired characteristics for the identification of the individual, either by the hand prints or the physical characteristics, or tattoos, moles, scars, etc. The traumatic or pathologic lesions may also be identified and classified, thereby facilitating the diagnosis of the cause of death. The formula is also an innovat ion since it preserves the rehydrated tissues with the whole identification characteristics and rescued lesions. The aforementioned characteristics turn the invention into a novel and completely different method from those currently used for rehydrating and preserving corps tissues.
