The invention relates to a losbreekinrichting for one or more lift cords of coating material from a screen. A connecting element (20) for connecting the one or more lift cords (102) having a pick-up element is received in a hollow housing (10). The housing is at one end provided with a first opening (11) for passage of the one or more lift cords, and at an opposite end of a second opening (12) for passage of the pick-up element, the connecting element (20) and the housing (10) are slidable relative to each other between an operational position and a non-operational position. The connecting element comprises two or more co-operating clamping elements (21, 22), which are adapted for clamping the one or more lift cords (102) in the operational position and for the release of the one or more lift cords in the non-operational position.
