The device (P) has a housing (1) accommodating a pressing tool with a drive for moving the pressing tool with an electronic control-and-monitoring device. The electronic control-and-monitoring device comprises an electronic information memory and exhibits an universal serial bus (USB)socket (7) for the connecting a laptop (8) using a USBcable (9). The USBsocket is covered by a dummy plug that is insertable into an opening of the housing.
