AN IMPROVED IN SITU CONSTRUCTION OF A LIGHTWEIGHT AGGREGATE CONCRETE STRUCTURE

A prior art method of constructing a lightweight aggregate concrete structure (10) in situ, in alphabetical order, comprising the steps of: (a) erecting an internal frame made from head track (11), bottom track (12), and intermediate vertical studs (13) to define a front face and a rear face; (c) attaching normal fibre cement sheets (14), with or without insulation sheet(s) (40), to said front and rear faces, to form a cavity or void therein a hollow structure; (g) injecting a lightweight aggregate concrete slurry into said cavity or void; and (h) allowing said lightweight aggregate concrete slurry to set and cure to form a lightweight aggregate concrete structure (10). According to the teaching of the present utility model, improvements are essentially taught to the prior art method of construction. The method further comprises the steps of: (b) pre-drilling holes on said normal fibre cement sheets (14), with or without insulation sheet(s) (40); (d) inserting tie-rods (31) and accessories through said normal fibre cement sheets (14) and thereafter external bracing elements (20); (e) disposing external bracing elements (20) on both sides of the hollow structure; (f) securing said tie-rod and accessories assemblies (30), thus clamping the external bracing elements (20) and the normal fibre cement sheets (14), with or without insulation sheet(s) (40), together; and (i) removing the external bracing elements (20) and the tie-rod and accessories assemblies (30) after the lightweight aggregate concrete slurry is set and cured. The normal fibre cement sheets (14) are of thickness more than 4.5 mm and density in the range of 1350 -1420 kg/m'. The lightweight aggregate concrete has a density range of 780 kg/m' to 850 kg/m'. The bulging of the normal fibre cement sheets (14) is being restrained during concrete curing and setting.
