Redistribution of excess load in an electric power system

There is provided mechanisms for redistributing excess load in an electrical power system. A method is performed by a control system. The method comprises detecting a stall-out of one or more propulsion motors in the electrical power system. The method comprises calculating instantaneous ability of used generators to ramp down power production due to the detected stall-out. The method comprises calculating excess load to be redistributed in the electrical power system due to used generators having ramped down power production. The method comprises distributing the calculated excess load according to available electrical consumers eligible to receive excess power temporarily.(Fig. 4)
