Process for the continuous production of lactulose from lactose using a continuous fixed bed reactor, heterogeneous basic catalysts

The present invention relates to the use of a continuous fixed bed reactor for the production of lactulose by isomerization of lactose. For this heterogeneous basic catalysts formed are used. The process provides a continuous stream of a solution containing lactulose which may then be purified for use in the pharmaceutical or food industry.
