Use of low dose local immunosuppression to enhance an oncolytic viral therapy

An oncolytic virus for use in a method for treating or alleviating a solid tumor in a subject, method comprising: (a) the injection of an effective amount of an oncolytic virus into or near the solid tumor, where the oncolytic virus is capable of selectively killing solid tumor cells, where the oncolytic virus is a reovirus; and (b) the suppression of local immune responses in or near the solid tumor by irradiating the solid tumor with an effective amount of an irradiation agent, wherein the amount of the irradiation agent is 1 to 25 Gy.
