The invention relates to a method allowing the accumulation and extraction of unicellular microalgae fat using dipterous insects. Concretely, the larvae are of species of saprophagous diptera, which are fed with wet microalgae in order to accumulate the fat thereof in large-size nodules for subsequent separation of the larval biomass, the crushing thereof and the separation thereof from the fat. The invention relates to a set of steps including: growth, separation and supply of a stream of microalgae, transformation of the microalgae into larval biomass when introduced into the dipterous insects as an intermediary, crushing, separation and refining of the least dense phase which corresponds to the fat that can be used for the production of biodiesel or other applications.
