A cartridge filter, comprising, a) an element (14) of depth filter; and, b) a second element (12) downstream filter, wherein, c) the element (14) of depth filter comprising a mass of polymer filaments meltblown, and has a removal efficiency of 90% to a size of contaminants in the range of 0.5 microns to 10 microns; and, d) the second element (12) comprises filter fibers having a diameter of 1 micron or less, and has a removal efficiency of 50% or more to a size of 1 micron contaminants or less.
