A psychophysical measurement procedure of adaptation to darkness in a subject, said procedure comprising the stages of: a. provide said subject; b. whiten a test eye of said subject; C. present an objective stimulus to said test eye of said subject; d. determining a response of said subject to said objective stimulus obtaining at least one threshold measure; and e. subjecting said at least one threshold measure to a noise reduction protocol to eliminate artifacts due to a distraction of the subject or error of the subject.
