A method for leak testing of the ventilation system of an environmental enclosure comprising an operator's cab or a room of a building, the method comprising: temporarily replace a filter existing air pollutant in the ventilation system a test filter for filtering a tracer gas of air flowing therethrough, comprising the tracer gas a gas naturally present in ambient air surrounding the compound, wherein the tracer gas comprises carbon dioxide, nitrogen, oxygen or argon ; induce ambient air outside the enclosure to flow through the ventilation system and in the enclosure, in order to establish a positive pressure within the enclosure; measuring the concentration of tracer gas inside the enclosure; and detecting the presence of leakage in the ventilation system from the concentration of tracer gas in the enclosure.
