A method of predicting the response to cancer treatment comprising bortezomib and rituximab in a patient with non-Hodgkin lymphoma cancer, comprising: determining the level or amount of a first predisposing factor in a biological sample from said patient, in which said first predisposing factor is CD68 or the polymorphism of PSMB1 (P11A); and determining the presence or quantity of a second predisposing factor in said patient; wherein low CD68 or the presence of the PSMB1 (P11A) polymorphism correlates with at least one positive result, and the presence, absence, or amount of said second predisposing factor correlates with at least one positive result.
