A speech analyzer according to the invention includes a voice acquisitionunit, afrequency conversion unit, an autocorrelation unit, and a pitch detectionunit. The frequencyconversion unit converts a voice signal acquired by the voice acquisition unitinto a frequencyspectrum. The autocorrelation unit calculates an autocorrelation waveformwhile shiftingthe frequency spectrum on a frequency axis. The pitch detection unitcalculates a pitchfrequency based on a local interval between crests or troughs of theautocorrelationwaveform.
