METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR SEQUENCING TRANSACTIONS GLOBALLY IN A DISTRIBUTED DATABASE CLUSTER WITH COLLISION MONITORING

A system and method for duplicating a plurality of transactions for a primarydatabase received from at least one application over a network as a pluralityof replicated transactions for a secondary database. The system comprises astatus module for monitoring a completion status of each of the plurality oftransactions received by the primary database, such that the completion statusindicates a respective transaction of the plurality of transactions has beensuccessfully processed by the primary database. The system comprises a globalqueue for storing each of the plurality of transactions for facilitating thetransaction duplication in a selected transaction sequence order, wherein theglobal queue is configured for storing the plurality of transactions and therespective completion status of each of the plurality of transactionsincluding a respective transaction identification. The respective transactionidentification represents a unique sequence identification for each storedtransaction of the plurality of transactions. The system comprises acontroller module coupled to the global queue and configured for assigning therespective transaction identification to each of the plurality of transactionsand further configured for duplicating as the plurality of replicatedtransactions all of the transactions with a successful completion status ofthe plurality of transactions for storage in a replication queue forfacilitating transmission of the plurality of replicated transactions to thesecondary database for processing.
