METHODS FOR A GLOBAL ASSAY OF COAGULATION AND FIBRINOLYSIS

The present disclosure concerns methods of analyzing both clot formation andfibrinolysis in a sample, preferably simultaneously. In certain embodiments,the methods may comprise adding a small amount of at least one activator ofcoagulation and at least one activator of fibrinolysis to a sample andanalyzing the sample for kinetic parameters related to clot formation andfibrinolysis. In another embodiment, the methods may comprise analyzing asample from a subject for clot formation and fibrinolysis and detecting ordiagnosing a disease or condition and/or applying information obtained fromanalyzing clot formation and fibrinolysis to determine a treatment for amedical condition of the subject.
