A SYSTEM AND A METHOD FOR ASSESSING AND REDUCING AIR POLLUTION BY REGULATING AIRFLOW VENTILATION

Disclosed are means for monitoring the levels of air pollution in urban areasfor the purpose of optimizing the conditions of airflow ventilation ofbuildings according to air pollution levels in their area. The inventionsupplies data in real time regarding local air pollution levels or relativelevels, i.e. current air pollution levels in relation to previous ones. Thedisclosed system and method makes use of the fluctuations in air pollutionlevels in order to achieve optimal reduction of air pollution levels insidebuildings. The system defines optimal times for ventilation in order toachieve a significant and persisting improvement of indoor air quality, in aroutine manner, by using measurements of nondeterministic, continuous andeffective fluctuations in air pollution levels at the surroundings of eachbuilding, specifically in locations which don't include monitoring stations.
