The present invention relates to novel fluorescent derivatives of polyamines having a benzoxadiazole group, their method of preparation and their use as diagnostic tools for demonstrating the system for transporting polyamines in cancer cells, and thus for selecting the patients with such tumors to adapt their treatment. These derivatives correspond to the formula (I) or to a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, wherein: R1 represents one or more NO2 groups at the 4 or 6 position, or a SO2Ph, SO2NMe2, SO2NH2, SO3H, R2 group represents hydrogen, C1-6alkyl, benzyl, perfluoroalkyl, the values of a, b, c can be from 2 to 5, independently of one another and represent alkylene linkages separating the amino groups, and the values d and e can be independently 0 or 1.
