The invention relates to a decorative element (10, 12) forwater fittings, comprising a sleeve-type section which is produced of plastic,the decorative element (10, 12) for water fittings being placed on thewater fitting (1) via said section. The decorative element is characterizedin that the sleeve-type section is produced of a composite material includinga cured polymer binder (16) and a particulate filler (18) incorporatedthereinto. The invention also relates to a method for producing a decorativeelement (10, 12) for water fittings.
