A method for increasing a moisture content of a skinand improving skin elasticity by improving a moistureretaining function of a dermis without generating steam,mist and the like, and a beauty apparatus that suppliesmoisture to a skin are provided. A user is irradiatedwith positive and negative ions which are generated byusing ion generation means and carried by a low-speed aircurrent from a blower, and a concentration of the ionsfor irradiating a skin surface is elevated to be apredetermined value or more, whereby the positive andnegative ions react to produce water, which moistens theskin, and improves skin elasticity. Further, when theions supplied from the ion generation means is releasedfrom a blowoff port, the blowing speed is controlled at alow level while elevating the ion concentration.
