Regulating asphaltene production in a solvent-based recovery process mayincludedetermining a bituminous hydrocarbon deposit composition of a bituminoushydrocarbondeposit that includes asphaltenes, selecting a hydrocarbon solvent mixturecomposition of ahydrocarbon solvent mixture, injecting the hydrocarbon solvent mixture into asolventextraction chamber, producing a product hydrocarbon stream from thesubterraneanformation, determining a product hydrocarbon stream asphaltene content of theproducthydrocarbon stream, and comparing the product hydrocarbon stream asphaltenecontent to atarget asphaltene content for the product hydrocarbon stream.
