Described are various embodiments of a mobile cash change management systemandmethod, and financial contribution and sharing system and method associatedtherewith.In one embodiment a mobile cash change processing system is provided forprocessingcash change to be returned to a user in return for a cash payment transactionexecuted bythis user at a given retailer location. The system comprises a monetarytransaction serverremotely operable to execute electronic monetary transactions betweendigitally storedaccounts, said server having stored in association therewith: user accountdata associatedwith each of a plurality of registered user accounts; retailer account dataassociated witheach of a plurality of registered retailer accounts; and sharing account dataassociatedwith each of a plurality of registered sharing accounts, wherein each of saidsharingaccounts is directly or indirectly associated with a respective retaileraccount. The systemfurther comprises a digital mobile application operable on the user's mobiledevice to:invoke communication of a cash change return identifier associated with thecashpayment transaction to said server, wherein said return identifier digitallyidentifies acash change amount, a given user account associated with the user and a givenretaileraccount associated with the cash payment transaction at the given retailerlocation, andwherein receipt of said communication by said server results in an increase toanavailable sharing balance associated with said given user accountcorresponding to saidcash change amount to be debited from said given retailer account; receiveidentificationof a given sharing account associated with the given retailer location;display a selectablesharing option to the given user via a graphical user interface of said mobiledevice inwhich information pertaining to said given sharing account is visibly renderedfor thegiven user, wherein selection of said sharing option authorizes a monetarysharingamount to be transferred to said given sharing account from said availablesharingbalance; and communicate user selection of said sharing option to saidtransaction serverin response to said user selection so to invoke an electronic transfer offundscorresponding to said sharing amount from said available sharing balance tosaid sharingaccount.
