The present invention relates to a portable blood glucose meter, and provides a portable blood glucose meter which is configured to measure, through a separate non-contact temperature sensor, the temperature of an external target on which a case is placed on the basis of a general use aspect in which a blood glucose metering operation is performed while the case is placed on a specific external target, and correct/calculate a blood glucose level by reflecting the measured temperature. Therefore, the portable blood glucose meter can accurately reflect the actual temperature in a current blood glucose metering environment, thus improving the resulting accuracy of a blood glucose level, and can naturally measure the temperature of an external target in the process of metering blood glucose without an additional separate operation for temperature measurement, thus enabling a user to more conveniently use the blood glucose meter. Further, the portable blood glucose meter is configured to verify whether a temperature measured by the non-contact temperature sensor is a temperature in the actual metering environment and then reflect the temperature in a process of calculating a blood glucose level. Therefore, the portable blood glucose meter can prevent an error that may occur in the process of measuring a temperature, and can further improve the resulting accuracy of a blood glucose level.
