Disclosed are a method, apparatus and device for generating a picture search library and searching for a picture. The method for generating a picture search library comprises: acquiring image data of an object photographed currently; according to the image data and search recognition information thereabout, generating a search recognition picture; and providing the search recognition picture to the picture search library, wherein the search recognition information comprises: photographing time and photographing location of the image data. The method for searching for a picture comprises: looking up a target search recognition picture matching a target picture in a picture search library; and providing the target search recognition picture to a user, wherein the target search recognition picture comprises image data and search recognition information, and the search recognition information comprises: photographing time and photographing location of the image data. In the present invention, an existing picture search technique is optimized, data sources and data types in a picture search library are enriched, and people's growing demands for personalized and convenient picture search are met.
