METHOD FOR INPUTTING KOREAN ALPHABET/ENGLISH ALPHABET/NUMERAL USING SOFTWARE KEYPAD

A character input method using a software keypad is disclosed. The disclosed character input method comprises the steps of: displaying a software keypad, which includes 12 main key buttons arranged in the form of a 4×3 matrix, on a touch screen; sensing a touch on an area of the touch screen where a first main key button among the main key buttons is displayed; and inputting one of two or more characters, which correspond to the first main key button, in a text box displayed on the touch screen on the basis of a pattern of the touch, wherein, among the main key buttons, the main key button at position (1, 1) corresponds to characters 『ㄷ, ㅌ, ㄸ, _, ^』, the main key button at position (1, 2) corresponds to characters 『ㄱ, ㅋ, ㄲ, ', "』, the main key button at position (1, 3) corresponds to characters 『ㅏ, ㅑ, ㅐ, ㅒ, :,;』, the main key button at position (2, 1) corresponds to characters 『ㅂ, ㅍ, ㅃ, /, 』, the main key button at position (2, 2) corresponds to characters 『ㄴ, ㄹ, (, )』, the main key button at position (2, 3) corresponds to characters 『ㅓ, ㅕ, ㅔ, ㅖ, , 』, the main key button at position (3, 1) corresponds to characters 『ㅅ, ㅎ, ㅆ, ×, ÷』, the main key button at position (3, 2) corresponds to characters 『ㅇ, ㅁ, =, ~』, the main key button at position (3, 3) corresponds to characters 『ㅣ, ㅡ, ㅢ, +, -』, the main key button at position (4, 1) corresponds to characters 『ㅈ, ㅊ, ㅉ』, the main key button at position (4, 2) corresponds to characters 『ㅗ, ㅛ, ㅘ, ㅚ, ㅙ』, and the main key button at position (4, 3) corresponds to characters 『ㅜ, ㅠ, ㅝ, ㅟ, ㅞ』. The present invention has an advantage in that Korean/English/numeric keypads are similar to each other and an input can be easily performed on one screen such as a Korean alphabet/numeral/special character screen or an English alphabet/numeral/special character screen.
