Provided are a system and method for separating residual monomers in a polymer viscous liquid. The separating system comprises a gas supply device, a gas heating device (3), a separating device, and an evacuating device, wherein the separating device comprises a reaction kettle/charge tank (5) equipped with a stirrer (51) and a gas dispersion tube (52) which is mounted at the bottom, a condenser (6) and a storage tank (7). A gas supplied by the gas supply device passes through the gas heating device (3) and is brought into the gas dispersion tube (52) mounted at the bottom of the reaction kettle/charge tank (5). The polymer viscous liquid is blown by the gas dispersion tube (52) to bubble the viscous liquid such that the residual monomers are evaporated out. The evaporated residual monomers together with the gas are brought into the condenser (6) under the action of vacuum. After condensation, the residual monomers and the gas are separated, and the residual monomers are brought into and stored in the storage tank (7).
