A high-strength deformable zinc-based alloy material, comprising: 5 wt% - 15 wt% of Cu, 7 wt% - 20 wt% of Al, 0.01 wt% - 1.5 wt% of Mg, 0.01 wt% - 2.0 wt% of Cr and the balance being Zn and inevitable impurities. The microstructure of the zinc-based alloy material contains a fine and uniformly-distributed primary phase ε, an aluminium-rich Al-Zn-Cu ternary fine eutectoid structure and a zinc-rich Zn-Al-Cu ternary eutectic structure. The alloy material is not less than 500 MPa in tensile strength, not less than 120 in HV hardness, not less than 10% in elongation and not less than 26% IACS in electric conductivity, and at the same time has good machining properties, and can be applied to industries such as power plugs, electronic and electric products and communication connectors and the like.
