Provided in the present invention are a method and apparatus for establishing radio access network node adjacent cell relations, the method comprising: a service radio access network node acquires a cell set of an adjacent radio access network node, wherein the cell set comprises the cells associated with the adjacent radio access network node; and configuring the cells in the cell set as adjacent cells to the cells managed by the service radio access network node. Using the technical solution provided by the present invention solves the technical problem that there is no solution in the prior art for automatic configuration of adjacent cell relations on the network side, and ensures that when terminals served by the radio access network node move between cells, the handover procedure can be smoothly implemented in order to maintain the links and service performance of the terminal, thus improving overall network performance.
