An array device for biological component assay, provided with: a substrate having a plurality of wells; a cover part placed over the substrate so as to cover open portions of the plurality of wells, leaving a gap between the substrate and the cover part; an injection port communicated with the gap between the substrate and the cover part; and a discharge port formed at a position separated from the injection port and communicated with the gap between the substrate and the cover part; an aqueous solution being loaded between the substrate and the cover part and a liquid including a biological component being subsequently introduced to the gap between the substrate and the cover part from the injection port, whereby excess solution, which is the portion of the aqueous solution that is outside the plurality of wells, is discharged from the discharge port, and the biological component is transferred by diffusion into well-loaded aqueous solution, which is the portion of the aqueous solution that is in the plurality of wells.
