A method and corresponding device for counting and analyzing traffic of a characteristic data packet, the method comprising: each specified device node in a network acquires traffic counting information of the characteristic data packet at a specified port of the device node respectively according to a configured counting time interval, and reports to a counting and analyzing server information of the specified port thereof and the corresponding traffic counting information; and the counting and analyzing server visually presents, according to the received information of the specified port and the corresponding traffic counting information, the traffic counting and analyzing information and/or packet forwarding path information of the characteristic data packet at the specified port of each specified device node, and dynamically updates the same.
