Disclosed is a method operating outside of a passageway for optimizing the passageway regional stress field, said method relating to the technical field of passageway protection. First, boring a pressure-relieving passageway (2) at an appropriate location in the floor rock layer of a passageway to be bored (1); measuring, inside of a passageway (6) in communication with the passageway to be bored (1), the crustal stress; calculating and analyzing the principal stress to obtain the position of the greatest difference of principal stress (3) on the wall after the passageway is bored; constructing from the inside of the pressure-relieving passageway (2) multiple rows of stress optimization holes (4) toward the position of the greatest difference of principal stress (3); performing static blasting at the position of the greatest difference of principal stress (3), thereby optimizing the passageway regional stress field. The present method relieves the pressure for passageways that have high stress but do not meet the requirements for pressure relief from inside of the passageways, and optimizes the passageway regional stress field. The method is simple and easy to operate, and has good implementation results and a prospect for wide application.
