A METHOD FOR ELECTRONIC VOTING USING BIOMETRIC DOCUMENTS

A "Vote" method for electronic voting using biometric documents involves a voter using a biometric document when voting, wherein information about the holder of said biometric document and a biometric image of said holder are entered into a single base when the document is issued, using technical devices and a programme for controlling the action of said devices. Access to a voting procedure is granted after verification of the match between the biometric image of the voter entered into the document and the voter's real-life biometric image. The technical result of the use of the proposed method is to obtain reliably non-falsified voting results by replacing existing multi-step methods for declaration of intention, at each step of which intentional forgery, unintentional errors and falsified results in the voting are possible, with a single-step method which is protected against any outside interference throughout an established voting period, up until the vote count is completed and an election commission receives the result reports from a computer, said reports being completely ready to be signed by the commission members. The method eliminates the possibility of repeated voting by a voter, and makes it as difficult as possible and impractical to vote for another voter. The proposed method can be used in any type of voting on any issue, both in regions and in individual organisations or in groups thereof. The use of this method, particularly in combination with other measures, makes it possible to minimise expenses on an election campaign and conduct voting on pressing issues frequently, as and when needed.
