The present invention relates to a single gateway, automated system that aids in the identification of an organism of interest from a pool of closely related organisms by predicting a restriction associated Single Nucleotide Polymorphism profile for said organism of interest with respect to a specific marker and a specific restriction enzyme group. A method of identifying an organism from a pool of closely related organisms by generating predictive restriction associated Single Nucleotide Polymorphism profiles and confirming the applicability thereof to multi-copy markers within the genome of organism to be identified is also disclosed.
