A granulate based on a mineral matrix, with gradual and controlled release of nutrient and/or pharmacological substances and a method for providing it. The mineral matrix comprises: - 1% to 50% water, - 5% to 90% magnesium chloride, - 5% to 80%) magnesium oxide. The granulate also comprises urea and fats. The method comprises the following steps: - wet formation of granules by mixing a mixture containing at least urea and silicates with a solution that contains at least water and magnesium chloride, selectively one between the mixture and the solution comprising the magnesium oxide, - joining the fats to selectively one among the mixture, the solution or the granules, - maturation of the granules.
