Provided is a system that allows even a user with no special knowledge of how to measure vital signs to appropriately measure the vital signs of a subject. A vital sign measurement apparatus according to one aspect of the present invention is provided with: an image acquisition unit for acquiring a captured image containing depth data indicating the depth of each pixel in the captured image; an extraction unit for extracting a person region containing a subject and a reference region containing a reference object in the acquired captured image; a measurement position determination unit for determining the position of a measurement region on the subject's body according to a positional relationship relative to the reference object in real space with reference to the depth of each pixel in the extracted person region and reference region; and a vital sign measurement unit for measuring changes in the measurement region using the depth of each pixel contained in a region in the captured image which corresponds to the measurement region, and measuring a vital sign appearing in a subject's body part including the measurement region on the basis of the measured changes in the measurement region in real space.
