The present invention provides a set-top box that performs a context-aware function on the basis of multi-modal information to learn and improve by itself. The set-top box comprises: a broadcast signal processing unit for receiving and providing a broadcast signal; and a processor for (i) acquiring specific context information data indicating a state of at least a part of a person, a thing, and an environment in an indoor space to which the set-top box belongs as a result of analysis of at least one piece of acquired sensing data, and (ii) performing an action item of a basic terminal or an action item of an external IoT terminal, which corresponds to the specific context information data, with reference to a database that records information on the action item of the basic terminal or the action item of the external IoT terminal, which is mapped according to the type of the context information data.
