The present invention relates to an automated rooftop greening apparatus utilizing bottom ash, and a greening method using the same. More particularly, the bottom ash, discharged from a thermoelectric power plant, is washed, ground, and then reused to plant trees or flowers on a rooftop of a building; the rooftop greening apparatus can have a light weight and plants can easily take root as the bottom ash is used; the bottom ash and soil do not mingle with each other as a mesh net made of a silk mesh is arranged between the bottom ash and the soil; and a lifespan of the trees or the flowers can be extended during drought by water absorbed in the silk mesh net, which absorbs water when water or rainwater is supplied from the outside.
