The present invention relates to a composition for preventing, alleviating, or treating periodontitis containing kaempferia parviflora extracts or fractions thereof as an active ingredient, and a composition for preventing, alleviating, or treating periodontitis containing at least one flavone compounds selected from a group comprising compounds expressed as chemical formula 1 to 3 or pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof as an active ingredient. The active ingredients can be effectively used for managing oral and periodontal diseases by suppressing generation of collagen-degrading enzymes and bone resorption enzymes.
