The present invention relates to an apparatus and a method for estimating remaining lifespan of PTO gears by using a tractor PTO axis adaptor which can estimate the remaining lifespan of gears in a PTO gearbox in a tractor having a working device such as an agricultural machine or a construction machine. The apparatus includes: a PTO adaptor arranged between a PTO axis and a working device; a PTO sensor for measuring PTO torque; a PTO speed calculation unit for calculating a PTO speed based on the number of rotation of an engine; a PTO gearbox information storage unit for storing information of the gears arranged in the PTO gearbox; a gear lifespan estimation unit for estimating the lifespan of the gears by calculating the stress based on load on the PTO gears obtained by the PTO torque sensor, the PTO speed calculation unit, and the PTO gearbox information storage unit and calculating fatigue damage to the gears based on the calculated stress; and a display unit for displaying the remaining lifespan of the gears estimated by the gear lifespan estimation unit. Difficulties for measuring PTO axis torque resulting from a structure of an existing tractor can be reduced by embodying the apparatus for estimating remaining lifespan of PTO gears by using a tractor PTO axis adaptor.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2016
